Smaller pool = lower odds of finding quality, cost-efficient players. Broader recruitment simply gives you better chances. Eg Brentford in championship.

My 10 point plan to save Bristol city FOOTBALL CLUB- it’s all a dream, but let’s try and find some solutions! 😉😉 1. Do not build the sporting quarter. Sell the land to the highest bidder and invest the monies to achieve the objective of realising Premiership football for Bristol City within 5 years 2. Remove Bristol City FC from Bristol Sport. The club is then responsible for meeting its own day to day operating costs including match days, and has to cover its own wage bill. What the football club makes over and above this, the football club keeps- who else has said that? 3. Reducing the exposure of the current owners liability to the football club over a period of 5 years. Provide fans with the opportunity to buy 10% of the club immediately. They will then have the option to purchase up to 25% of the club if the club achieves premiership status within 5 years. 4. Give section 82 the South Stand- give them the voice they deserve- let’s make noise 5. Move the South stand to the Atyeo- that’s where many of the South Stand supporters used to sit before the South Stand was built. 6. Put the away support at the top of the Lansdown- make them high and quiet 7. Task our best in class recruitment team to generate 50% of the first team on the pitch (not the subs bench) with players born within a 50 mile radius of Ashton Gate within 5 years 8. All players entering the last two years of their contract either sign an extension or are sold. Let’s not leave the value on the pitch- remember who else said that? 9. Do not appoint a Sporting Director. Creating an extra layer of hierarchy removes the most important person - the manager- from the influence in the club they deserve. Appoint a manager with the remit to a achieve Premiership promotion within 5 years with an agreed (not public) transfer and salary budget for the next 6 transfer windows - in other words don’t flip flop, back them 10. Insist that supporters confirm they know the words to every Wurzel song and sing them loud and proud! #Bristolcity
