A. I was asking the question: if Dante had a strong indication he wasn’t going No. 1 to LV, would it be wise to return to Oregon for a year to avoid the certainty of playing for a Jets org that has a steep history of ruining QBs?
B. I was also arguing the merits of Dante returning to school due to lack of game experience, which historically directly correlates to NFL success/failure.
C. No. 2 pick this year will make approximately $10m per yr guaranteed. Sorsby is reportedly making up to $7m on his NIL deal next yr. You think Phil Knight wouldn’t make Dante close to whole?

Back to Baltimore: The Ravens claimed their former WR Diontae Johnson on waivers today from the Texans, per the league’s wire. This a procedural move and Johnson won’t officially be “awarded” to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl. But he qualifies as an unrestricted free agent this offseason and, if he signs with another team, he factors into Baltimore’s compensatory pick formula, potentially helping it obtain an additional draft pick in 2026. Johnson doesn’t have the ability to play this post-season and likely won’t step foot back into the Ravens’ facility. But he now can help Baltimore in the off-season.
