It’s fairly common practice that if you own part of a digital pack of items that you can’t get again, they will discount/improve the offer. reduction in price, free normal battle pass, a little extra premium currency. SOMETHING that shows loyalty to your player/consumer. Especially with a game like D4 that’s effectively been in beta since launch because they can’t find things the community likes to deliver on consistently.

Bc it’s now old news. And can be used as an incentive package to future entice new or returning players. That’s a good thing. Games want players. Things get discounted as time goes on. You can not agree. But I’ll never understand how peoples emotions seem to run so high, they can’t work this out themselves through deductive reasoning.

Someone, ANYONE, tell me why blizzard is charging $40 for Lord of Hatred with vessel included BUT if you already own vessel you don’t get any kind of discount. Talk about a middle finger to your prior supporters….

@_JustHailey Yeah that seems like a slap in the face to me. I'm also not a fan of how expensive their cosmetics are (some are like $25). I played D4 for a while but I can't bring myself to go back.. idk probably just me. Hopefully it's a good DLC and everyone's having fun.

@_JustHailey Why would they give you a discount for a new expansion? Vessel of Hatred was a gap filler anyway. Treat it as such and maybe you'll stop caring so much about something this unimportant. Who cares.

@Philslaya I rock a mind control build so you always have a thrall (just need to mind control before you thrall them). This makes it so reave stacks up tons of Mesmer skin stacks and stays topped off 🖤 Thrall and weapon platform, essentially! But his 4/disco build can be fun too!

Warframe is the only game that can be fully f2p, allow you to farm for anything gameplay related you want FOR FREE, and release consistent FREE updates but still get called “gacha” because of “loot tables” Gotta be jealousy over every “competitor” ending themselves, right? 🤯

@_JustHailey I never called it a gatcha game. I just said it has gatcha mechanics which is true. also your time and attention is a currency, and thats why loot boxes are considered gatcha.

@Xephyrantes I’d agree except it’s seen in as a stigma by some. I’ve played and enjoy some gacha but just can’t get there to call warframe one. Not saying it’s an insult, but misleading to any potential new players for sure.

@_JustHailey people calling it a Gacha is quite light of an insult where tons of gacha games are actually quite good (Arknights player here) and as always, the best games are the ones you spend money because you want to support the game or the devs and not because you need to for "content"

@IshaInMyButt Every game with loot tables is a gacha by this definition. Relics are literally just portable, selectable loot tables. And again, you can completely ignore them, farm and sell arcanes/mods, and get everything in the game for free. Warframe is in no way a gacha game.

@IshaInMyButt No, gacha very directly needs currency exchange for the boxes. Relics are just loot tables, but you’ve called them boxes cause they’re external. Still doesn’t make it gacha

@IshaInMyButt You don’t need to, you can get them in game. They’re literally just selectable loot tables in how they function. Fact is: gacha comes from the machines that you put money in for a random reward. Warframe is not that by even the most absurd of interpretations.

@_JustHailey Gatcha does not need a real money purchase. Thats an emotional definition. also, you can purchase relics through: the in game market platinum trading syndicates aya and baro

@_JustHailey You can purchase relics with multiple currencies in game lol. and again, for something to be a loot box it doesnt need a purchase. anything with a loot table isnt a loot box because its not a consumable item.

@soupybabee @IshaInMyButt I’d allow rivens to meet that interpretation. Baro boxes are a weekly thing, can’t spend currency on more or anything. That’s a reach. Rivens are a failed system, but Twitter ain’t ready for that discourse

@IshaInMyButt This is an insane stretch. By that logic anything with a loot table is a loot box. You don’t use a currency in game to purchase or unveil relics. Thus it’s not gacha. It’s really not that deep.

im not talking about enhancement. But relics are a loot box. definitionally relics are loot boxes. warframe isnt a gatcha game but it does have gatcha mechanics and lootboxes which it does very well. I am the first person to say warframe is one of the most perfectly designed games that exist today. But it still has loot boxes and if someone hates that gameplay they are free to dismiss the game for it.
