When my father died, we kept the news to ourselves until we had sorted some of the basic logistics and it really provided us the space to think and plan without external pressures & interferences. I don’t think we can control how people choose to show up for us, but we can 1/2

That’s act of Ubuntu. People showing up to mourn with the bereaved family on the day of death can never be a burden in anyway. Let’s not allow modern day culture to erode on our Ubuntu. If anything, you should be grateful to have people come and show support during bereavement.

My heart bleeds for Denise. Her ex-husband dated her best friend of 14 years behind her back, and she still survived that betrayal. Then he took her children away from her and cut off all communication, knowing exactly how deeply that would break a mother. Some people destroy others emotionally and still sleep peacefully at night. We love you, Denise. You remain in our prayers, and we truly hope that one day you will be reunited with your beautiful girls. I just hope life eventually became softer for her after everything she endured. ❤️
