@thatteacherguy_ @MissP__KS2 Great advice, I’d make sure you share your concerns in writing over email to cover your back. Even if you talk in person, follow it up with an email recapping what you’ve discussed.

@MissP__KS2 If you feel she has the potential to turn violent you should be offered an existing member of staff for the trip. I wasn’t suggesting the school employ someone. I think you need to share your concerns. If something goes wrong and you’ve done the risk assessment you’re liable.

How do teachers switch off and forget about school? I've got quite a challenging girl in my class and going on a trip on Wednesday with her and it's been the only thing on my mind all weekend.

@_LBoulton Me! I was a primary school teacher for over 15 years & left in July. I left due to how much the job had changed, how all-consuming it was & my passion had gone. I now work for a fabulous little charity @Hope_FamiliesUK offering parenting support.

@EduMsfb Go you! I’m such an advocate for that… enjoy life whilst you’re able to do everything you want to. Absolutely breaks me to see people work so hard all their life and not enjoy retirement. What’s on your bucket list?

Sat in the hair salon and there’s a woman who has had a guide dog for 15 years and they’re going to take the dog away from her. No option to pay or anything to keep the dog. Surely this is wrong? Please share, a news platform should pick this up. @guidedogs @BBCNews @MailOnline

@_LBoulton That’s a great idea. I recently retired as an educator. I’ve seen a lot of pictures in the last couple weeks of teachers and administrators organizing their classrooms and offices. You’re motivating me to do the same at home.

The last 5 years I have spent some of my summer holidays preparing my new classroom. This year there is no classroom, so I chose to organise my home office instead. The real question… do I label my drawers? 👀

@Bloomgabs I can see how the financial support would help a single mum teaching full-time and I hope you really benefit from the upcoming pay rise. For a job that is so centred around children, it seems to be one of the least parent-friendly jobs going, without considering the holidays.

@_LBoulton Whilst I don’t disagree with you, I had to access the teacher hardship fund last year. As a single mum / full time teacher I struggle to get through the month. It’s good to be paid properly for the huge amount of work we do.

A teacher pay rise is not the solution, a reduction is workload is. Mental Health and life balance cannot be bought. I haven’t changed my career from teaching because of the pay, it’s the workload and life balance. Any teacher I speak to about this says the same. #edutwitter

Put my resource making skills to good use… created some Christmas Games Cards to gift my family for Christmas. There’s 7 games that use only 10 things from the supermarket. Plan on gifting them in a bag with the items needed. Think Hello Fresh, but make it Christmas Games 😂

Part-time teaching is where it’s at. I’m doing another job Mon-Tues and teaching Wed-Fri. I get to look forward to teaching and take no work home. Best decision I’ve made 😊

@EYFS_K Hey! I work on renovations, mainly project management and design 😊. My fiancé has a construction company and we’ve just started taking on bigger renovations. Completely different to teaching!
