Do you guys remember the era of fanfics where the author would just throw the entire cast into a mansion and it would be their silly antics or am I too old

fic idea: write a fic where one of the characters have a terminal illness and name the first chapter 'ten' and then start counting down as the story progresses and then when you're at chapter 'zero' the character with the terminal illness dies
