Personally, I do not think people of integrity with great skill should turn down serving in any government, whether we like the government or not. When good people take charge, the results benefit us all even if they help the said government score some points. I’d rather a bad government score some points than let everything crash because we don’t like the government. Daniel is a perfect example of such people. So, I believe we need to stop castigating people that step up to serve. It is selfish and wicked to do that simply because you don’t want the government to look good. Winning is a journey that required the good to build up gradually.

Jide, legacy media is dead. Global and locally. The New York Times makes more money from its game and subscription bundles than its core usp which was news. The language of contemporary media is a different type of curation and Korty being a prime example here also in a way reduces the condensed work Korty had done over the last 4 years which set the tone for such access, legacy media don’t have that type of enthusiasm or platform for such experimentation that ultimately landed the talented lady her place in media. WTS, CC, and the likes are our only hope. Legacy media is only counting down till an acquisition can happen. The only role they have left is for their archives to be used as training materials for AI.

I frequently speak of legacy media outlets failing in culture/entertainment journalism and coverage. Given the resources available to them, it's a disgrace that they do not support their journos in doing the best work they can. I'm reminded again as I watch the new Asake interview with Korty. She landed an incredible performer at his highest peak yet, which means he would be difficult to pin down. But she did it, and had a great conversation at the end. Can you imagine Punch/Guardian/ThisDay/Nation funding a reporter to work on one scoop for three days? But the Korty interview with Asake will cross 1 million views by next week, and she's just one person. I wish her continued success, and I hope it jolts older media corporations to get with the times.

The youth arrives at the place all older persons have been in bated breath disappointed at the display of life which he had been told has no rhyme and reason only leverage and power but he desired different and jogged on till he gets here. he asks in tired voice what’s wrong with all of you can’t you wish for more or different? This is irrefutable proof that our problem was never education or exposure. How do you explain that people who fled to a functioning society with reliable institutions and active checks and balances are rooting for the continued leadership of a leader who has trailed in catastrophic failure? If they love him so much, they should return to Nigeria and experience the leadership firsthand. I am so livid!

We spent $15,000 on billboards targeting one person: the guy controlling all the chemical spend at a saltwater disposal company in Texas. We mapped his commute and bought every billboard between his house and the oil field. When we finally called, he said "I see your billboards everywhere." That landed us our first oil field contract. At the time our entire operation was a $10,000 reactor built from PVC pipes from Home Depot, turning corn sugar into industrial chemicals. People keep trying to throw it away. It still works. That leaking reactor started a multibillion-dollar company. @ycombinator visited our plant in Houston. The original PVC reactor is still on the floor next to the Bioforge.

I think posterity reviews an entrepreneur intentionally and once it’s has done its convincing due diligence that you are real one, it sends you runway and buffers for the tough days and then one day give you the by product of delivering value. This is exactly why Paul writes that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men. Sometimes I try to imagine how fatal a mistake it would have been if God had given Israel the warrior-king messiah they desperately wanted. That would have been the most amateur move in history. Jesus would have been one of many strong men, and strong men are the most perishable thing on earth. Strength intrinsically depreciates. Every generation redefines it upward. Improved technology means faster and cheaper ways to kill more people, and there will always be someone more powerful coming behind you. The power model has a ceiling. It always has. God chose differently. Jesus did not conquer by force. He was executed by the people with the force. And 2000 years later he is still being followed. His teachings still shape ethics, civilization, and the moral imagination of billions of us. He stands in a class of his own not in spite of the non-violence but precisely cos of it. Juxtapose him against the most vicious warlord in recorded history and he stands out. Juxtapose him against the most peaceful statesman alive today and he still stands out. Nothing touches him on either end of the spectrum. Durant who Bibi quotes was describing history, not eternity. Jesus said the meek shall inherit the earth and in doing so he was revealing a logic that runs deeper than any military strategy. The cross looked like defeat and foolishness to everyone watching. But in reality it was the most decisive victory ever recorded. God is amazing in his wisdom!

Finding great editors and creative filmmakers to translate my vision has been so tough that I had to literally come out of retirement and started shooting and editing myself again. I really really had high hopes for the kids but clearly storytelling is still a moat and vacancy still exists across countries and markets.
