Pragmatism is a cancer that is destroying the church. The American Philosophy. Truth has a cash-value in this worldview. This is evident in multiple ways: -in being program-driven, -in using methods/means that is not authorized by Scripture, -in seeker-sensitive churches, in church-government models that imitate that of the corporate business world instead of the New Testament witness related to church government. -in musical form and content that imitates the world. -in integrating counseling systems contrary to God’s means of sanctification. The list could keep going. What the church must return to is the sufficiency of Scripture for life and godliness! God’s Word is powerful to change lives. It is the Word of Life. Philippians 2:14-16 [14] Do all things without grumbling or disputing, [15] that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, [16] holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
