I am convinced that one of the most important things a staff member can do to contribute to a strong culture is to be excited about their job. This does not require skill, experience, or innovation. But it does require heart.

I talked recently with a student that I taught 25 years ago and he called me coach because that’s how he remembered me. It’s funny that students remember you based on the relationship you had. Make sure they all remember a great relationship.

Listening to your students is the best professional development there is.

Teachers, remember All In doesn’t mean that you need to be working all the time. All In means your giving your best & you can’t give your best if you aren’t taking time for your essential R’s (rest, relax, & recover). Remember this for summer and when school begins in the fall

We don’t always get to pick and choose the moments where we make a difference. We don’t always know the conversations that students will remember. As educators, we should never underestimate our impact. We might not know when...and we might not know how...but it’s always there.
