Sometimes Twitter can be depressing.
If the nasty comments about TTC were coming from men, I would have said “na their way.” But seeing stupid women who found it easy to get pregnant now thinking they can piss on other women’s struggles is nasty.
Who is seeking your pity?
When I had my first baby, I was a TTC mum. It took me one year. I joined forums, read people’s stories, researched what to do, used hormonal regulators, tracked my ovulation, visited doctors who refused to take me seriously because I was young , and I still cried at every negative test because I was anxious and tired.
For my second, I was still a TTC mum, even though it took 5–6 months. My period stopped, and that alone caused me serious anxiety, still joined those forums online looking for who was exactly in my shoes
So no, TTC is not some pity party acronym. It is a community, a language, and a way women find support while going through their journey

The things I’m seeing in these quotes are so annoying especially from women. “It’s the food, shawarma, skincare”. These are the things we fought banger boys about the whole of last year on spreading misinformation and harmful rhetorics about women’s health.
Shawarma is not the cause of PCOS. Skincare is not the cause of PCOS. The older generation of women had it but were undiagnosed. Some of us have had it before we even knew what shawarma was. It is very insensitive and distasteful

I just opened TikTok and saw a 20yr old girl say, ‘Only me PCOS, fatty liver, kidney problems.’ I checked the comments and it was full of girls aged 17–20 saying the same thing. Then I saw another: ‘Only me PCOS, ovarian cysts, enlarged ovaries, fatty liver, 2 years without menstruation… and I just turned 20.’ My goodness

You guys actually make excuses a lot you know. No can convince me that a parent will be too busy to bond with their children. Growing up my dad was the sole financial provider but I have way too many memories of movie nights with him, doing riddles, discussions , family outings to Cosmo or Wing Wah Buffet, Pizza nights, playing the Wii or Just Dance. Even now, he bonds with us so much, he would call us to invite us over for some Wine and Chinese which leads to funny / almost heated family debates. Made time to go shopping with us and get us ice cream after (4 girls so it got hectic) Even if he wasn’t able to attend school plays etc…I just never felt a way about it growing up because the bonding was always solidified. Yet he worked and was even studying at the same time. Can’t deal with excuses man. If your dad wanted to…he would.

Unrelated, but Hausa traders don’t touch/harass women in the market too. I’ve noticed how they even avoid contact when I pass by. As someone who has lived in the north/middle belt, I can confidently tell you they are the most honest ethnic group in Nigeria (both in words and character).

The results of all my scholarship applications are finally in.
I ended up applying to 52 fully funded and partially funded international scholarships and leadership fellowships between November 2025 and February 2026. And since I promised to share my testimony with all of you kind souls who were rooting and praying for me when my first scholarship post below went viral… here it goes:
Out of 52 applications, I got 45 outright rejections. Back to back. Some even came two in a day. As I was opening one email, another one would come in.
For Erasmus CLMCE, I got placed on the reserve list, aka pray that someone turns down their scholarship so we might consider you. I’m not counting on that one, for obvious reasons.
Then I got into Erasmus MARIHE, not fully funded, but with full tuition waived/ no participatory costs.
I also received five significant partial scholarships (two of them at 50%) across the UK schools I applied at for my Commonwealth and Chevening applications.
Currently trying to decide if I’m trying my dream school again later this year with a stronger application, or if I’m moving forward with one of the options I have now.
Overall, this has been a powerful experience.
