There's something special about a weevil. This is one of the species that likes Figwort - Cionus tuberculosus. Found half a dozen in the garden yesterday - only a few records for Northants but probably well under recorded.

Another new species for our garden and unusual for Northants - a Rose Chafer (Cetonia aurata) was a real surprise find and a particularly colourful one too! We've only seen them in the UK along the South coast.

Haven't seen an Ivy bee for some weeks here although we have masses of Ivy which is literally humming with insects. Found this one late yesterday on Verbena bonariensis & don't think they can reach the nectar so moved it to Ivy & it lapped it up!
