Dubas and Wes didn’t buy in to media pressure of “win now” stuck with the plan of buying low on 25 and under players and growing the team through draft picks and developing in house. Once the core is gone, the youngsters rn will already be elite once the new superstars arrive….

The Penguins have to get a little younger next season, I wouldn't bring Evgeni Malkin back, because Ben Kindel has to be the 2C, and he has to be PP1, and Mantha definitely won't be back, but they have a ton of cap space, so I expect Dubas to make moves in the Summer.

@kelsey_surmacz4 I’d cut him some slack, folks tend to forget it’s literally his first playoff series after being in the basement in Columbus for some time. The only worry though is if he becomes a James Neal where he is an elite regular season player but can’t produce in the playoffs like Neal

Chinakhov was one of the Penguins' best players in Game 6. Made some key defensive plays. Hit a post. Got better as the series went on, too.
The Penguins' entire offense dried up in this series. So, this result doesn't change anything in terms of how the Penguins view Chinakhov.
