This 2026 draft might end up being one of the greatest we’ve ever seen. Be thankful Nico handed the Lakers Luka, because if he hadn’t, we’d probably have Peterson and Carr right now. Consider yourselves blessed.

It’s gonna be wild next season to see Reaves shooting 39% from 3 on 8 attempts per game.

@itsjustTaj_ Yes. Especially at the minimum or exception he would be signing at.

A loud minority is still the minority.

@_OfficialProta it's hard to appreciate a place that never greeted you with open arms. from the beginning, his murals were defaced, you think bron just supposed to forget that and not gaf? hard to LOVE lakerland when the majority of fans & the city says "we dont want you here"

@_OfficialProta it ain't a minority. its majority of lakers fans. 70% of lakers fans wanted bron gone years ago, and when he announced he was leaving 2 weeks ago niggas threw a parade. even media members, not just geeks on twitter..

The tweet isn’t about Sexton. It’s about Rob openly acknowledging last year’s roster lacked physicality by saying they’re looking for toughness from Sexton. You’re arguing with a point I never made.
Uncle T 🇳🇬@KRYPTIXK

@_OfficialProta And if you want to pretend that the signing made show toughness then sure

It was the same thing with the 2019-20 Lakers. I don’t think we’ve seen a Laker team that close knit since, and it really speaks to how important team chemistry is when it’s paired with elite talent. The 2020-21 Lakers team had that same chemistry too, but injuries robbed them of their chance. Then Rob basically looked at that roster and said, “To hell with this team,” and blew it up.

The common denominator on the ‘22 Mavs and the ‘24 Mavs was a team full of guys who genuinely 1) loved to play with one another and 2) Enjoyed spending time with one another off the court. We just saw a team win a championship with their friendship leading the charge. It’s so important, and it doesn’t get discussed enough when talking about roster construction.

It’s honestly refreshing to have a roster full of guys who actually chose to be Lakers and are excited to wear the jersey. Grimes, Kessler, Reaves, Mamu, Ziaire… for the longest time it felt like Rui and Reaves were the only ones who genuinely embraced being Lakers. Everybody else felt like they were here more for the spotlight or the PR boost that comes with the franchise. It’s nice to finally have a group that actually wants to be here. Now all that’s left is hoping Luka falls in love with it too.
