Job done for Mexico, I felt the Mexico outside CB’s defended Lee Kang In’s dropping movements really well, clearly something they worked on in the build up to this game after it was so threatening for Korea vs Czech. Krejci was very ‘do I follow do I not’ in the first matchweek, no hesitation for Mexico. Korea with a lack of quality on the ball and in their attacking actions, this is why I always say back 5’s have ceilings so much lower than back 4’s. 5-2-3 mid block with the intention of locking on higher up the pitch to make it man to man but the press wasn’t always backed up behind the forward line. In possession a 3-2-5, similar game plan to the Czech game of let Lee Kang-In’s drop deep and look to attack the space in behind through 3rd man runs. As mentioned earlier Mexico defended this well. Mexico with a similar structural out of possession approach to Saudi Arabia, a 4-4-2 mid block the entire game until they take the lead before dropping into a 5-4-1 through dropping a winger back. Did concede control with the ball however when changing to the 5-4-1, led to long periods of them pinned back. Man to man from restarts. Good in game subs too such as taking Raul off, was evidently knackered and the intensity in his work off the ball was lowering as the game went on. 3-2-5 deeper before transitioning into a 3-1-6 with wide triangles on both sides for Mexico in possession. Quinones inverted with Gallardo high as the primary width holder on the left. Need more runs in behind however. We have an exciting end to group A! 🇲🇽🇰🇷

Not 1 match missed so far, every game has had some sort of analysis on my page no matter the kick off time. 5pm, 6pm, 8pm, 11pm, 2am, 3am, 5am UK time you name it i’ve been there with live analysis. With me currently 18, me doing the extra is what will get me ahead for the future. 💪
