Glasgow Warriors are carrying Scottish rugby but are losing some top players. Edinburgh are struggling to make the play-offs after a humbling defeat to the Lions and Scotland under-20 picked up the Wooden Spoon. What’s going wrong? Column in @heraldscotland @ScotRugbyNews

After an encouraging display in the Six Nations, @ROB_Robireland looks back on a difficult seven days in Scottish rugby that has sapped any feel good factor 🔗 shorturl.at/STNxw

@ROB_Robireland The SRU hollowing out Glasgow it seems I know both Scottish sides need to be at the same level, but bringing Glasgow down to Edinburgh’s doldrums isn’t the answer.

@MarkPalmerST @CraigWatsonpix Feels like never. We played some excellent rugby at times today but never got hold of the game due to constant pressure from Ireland. They’ve definitely got our number.

Unfortunate timing or top trolling from the fellas in charge of the pitchside ad boards at the Aviva? @CraigWatsonpix

What an absolute rubbish scrum penalty against Scotland. Fagerson didn't even pop out. For a first scrum of the game, the ref butchered that horribly and it was worth seven points. Diabolical.

@RuaidhriOC Ireland very good value for their win. On it from minute 1 and smothered everything Scotland threw at them. Some excellent rugby from both sides, but Scotland can’t seem to get their heads round beating Ireland.

Stunning Ireland performance today, led by the captain Caelan Doris who put in an outrageous shift. That Scotland team took some beating and Ireland rose to it. Jack Crowley excellent, Stu McCloskey everywhere & the bench came on and took it home with Kelleher & Timoney immense

Jack Crowley was nigh on flawless today. Super game. Really mature performance on both sides of the ball. Played when he had to and put others into the game when he needed. Did really well here too despite Steyn trying to go through him.

Much as Scotland scored some beautifully crafted tries, there are things that seem to happen in this fixture - error count, failed restarts, poor exits, breakdown issues - far more than any others. A very, very familiar story.

@ruaridh_jackson We gave ourselves a chance, and all credit to them for doing so. But Ireland in Dublin was never going to be easy and we had a massive weakness whenever we come up against them.

May be an idea for next year’s 6 Nations that nobody in the Scotland camp says anything about beating Ireland. Just keep quiet. None of this pish about “there for the taking”. Concentrate on your own game to beat them in the pitch.

@JohnRossBeattie Scotland with their usual blind spot against them. Thrown so much at them and they’ve hand answers time and again.

@MarkPalmerST The Scotland we all know has returned. Credit Ireland for suffocating our attack and taking the chances they’ve had.

Eugh. Error-strewn stuff from Scotland who have fallen into, and facilitated, so many familiar Irish traps. Complete reset required at half-time or else we know all too well how this ends
