I always thought I was a strong person who doesn’t shed tears easily, until I lost my dad four years ago. I wept profusely for days. I couldn’t properly eat Sahur or Iftar for many days.

@_SalamiWasiu We lost our dear father Oct 2023 but up to now I cry whenever I remembered that I didn't get to see him or talk to him for the last time. I wasn't able to hear his last sermon or instructions, I wasn't able to have a last memory with him. May they continue to rest well

Whenever I remember this, my heart filled with gratitude, and I say Alhamdulillah for the gift of such an ending. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, have mercy on him, and grant him the highest place in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

Alhamdulillah, what consoles me the most was his final moments. As he was about to pass, he repeatedly recited the Shahada: Lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muḥammadur Rasūlullāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam).

What gives me comfort is knowing that he died as a Muslim. I also find peace whenever I remember our last conversation, just a week before his passing. He called me to come see him and spoke in a way that feels like he knew his time was near.

He left at a time when things were just beginning to fall into place. But, Almighty Allah knows best.

I still struggle to comprehend that I lost someone who made countless sacrifices for us, someone who cared so deep for us, someone I watched endure hardship just so we could survive, without even enjoying the fruits of his labour.

Kwara Govt opens registration portal for 3-day entrepreneurship training for students • Outstanding participants to receive equipment support

At the end of the programme, participants will make presentations where outstanding participants will receive equipment support from the state government.

Interested students are encouraged to apply via forms.gle/Y1gRnQXemcu7mc… as registration opens on Wednesday, March 24, 2026, and closes on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Eligible applicants must be bonafide students of recognized tertiary institutions in Kwara State with an existing business or demonstrable entrepreneurial skill, according to the statement.

The intensive 3-day training is scheduled to hold in April 2026, with 100 participants to be selected from tertiary institutions across the state.

“We are not just training students on entrepreneurship, but to build ventures that can grow, attract investment, and contribute meaningfully to the economy of Kwara State,” he said.

The Governor's aide explained that the initiative aligns with the state government’s broader commitment to youth empowerment and economic development through entrepreneurship.

Participants will also benefit from hands-on workshops, mentorship sessions, and practical exercises designed to help them transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.
