‼️Would you look at that… The City of Wilsonville is being sued by owner of former Fry’s Electronics property.
It’s been widely posted in the local FB groups that the woke city council in Wilsonville said no to Home Depot because they want a 15 minute city which residents seem opposed to… The vast majority wanted Home Depot.
👉🏻 Lumberjack L.P. agreed to sell the building and land to Home Depot for $23.46 million. In order for the sale to move forward, Home Depot needed to obtain an exemption from the newly revised zoning regulations in the Town Center comprehensive plan. Regardless of the Home Depot plan, Lumberjack noted the challenges of selling or redeveloping the property due to the conflicts between the city’s Town Center Plan — aimed at making the area more walkable and including housing and smaller retail shops — and restrictions imposed within the business center there as well as a purported lack of interest from the private sector in redeveloping the land.
The company added that renovating the building is also not economically viable and that it has spent $3.4 million in carrying costs since Fry's closed. The company is seeking a jury trial and relief in the form of "an award of just compensation" for the property and a finding that the government has conducted an unlawful "taking" of the property.

Wilsonville Oregon… These spaces have been vacant for years. Sadly this is the norm in a lot of our local cities now. No one wants to do business here anymore. Oregon’s Democrat Supermajority has completely destroyed this state.
