The whole Toby Fox situation is really exposing how many people don't know the difference between translation vs localization
It's a lot more complex than just translating the text, especially with games so heavily reliant on wordplay, double meaning and dialog tone

@cosmicalmv It's his work and he has the final say on how its released to the world. Not all art is going to be accessible to everyone in an officially. It sucks there's not more translations, but you have to recognize he is an artist who cares about how his passion project is released.

@cosmicalmv He puts effort into Japanese because he's bilingual, he speaks Japanese and thus can personally assure his creative vision is being portrayed accurately. He's doesn't think his work "can't be translated" he just wants to personally be able to assure its being adapted well.

@marccomicaze the problem is that the very principle of this idea is not only stupid but extremely boastful. UTDR is mainly a text game. it is "like a book". Imagine books not being translated.

@_SillyScientist Yeah, I know. The Portuguese translation is, in fact, one of the best ones in the industry. It adapts "toby fox vision" (by which I believe he means his voice) to our beautiful language perfectly.

@ImagesDeltarune Also one thing I feel people don't understand is they seem to be taking Toby's words to mean he doesn't trust translators with his idea when to me it reads more as him not trusting himself enough to direct and help the team properly.

@cosmicalmv There are fan translations of UT/DR. Theres several in fact. You can find them on google for free. Toby Fox actively encourages them.
