We went aurora hunting in Norway this winter and this video contains the events of February 11th 2026 when we were at Lyngenfjord for a night. The weather couldn't be better with all clear skies, all we needed was some good data for a successful night of aurorae. Another night in the freezing cold around -20°C, warmed up a bit in the car during the night as it would become a very special night. Our dinner wasn't yet completed when we already could see it from our hotel window, so quickly got ready and drove a bit more northward for a darker spot outside the town and found a pretty nice spot at a parking lot along the highway. A few big bands of aurora were already visible at the start but it was pretty static at first, but as the night evolved we got treated with two very sweet substorms which made the aurora dance in the sky and became very bright that I could even video it with my phone. In this amazing setting at the fjords, it was really breathtaking and one of my best northern lights displays ever! Imagery shot with Canon EOS 90D, timelapses shot with DJI Osmo Action 4 and video footage shot with iPhone 17 Pro. youtu.be/Fxkl6AxjVpM?is…

We went aurora hunting in Norway this winter and this video contains the events of February 10th 2026 when we were at Målselvfossen waterfall for a night. Sky was mostly clear which gave us hope for a Wonderfull night of aurorae. With temperatures around -25°C it was a cold night but it was definitely worth it! The night started pretty calm but solar wind parameters looked pretty good with steady southward Bz, it was only waiting for the magnetometers to respond and oh yeah they did. We were treated with a stronger substorm (K5 on Kiruna magnetometer) sparking bright aurorae with some neat red color. It sure was a night to remember.
