Serious question to all the "Kangludesh best gdp" kangers
Can you explain why, even compared to UP, Bangladesh lags on several hard-to-fake economic indicators?
- Cars sold per 1,000 people:
- UP: ~1.5
- Bangladesh: ~0.3
(Bangladesh’s annual car market is only ~25,000 units)
- Tractors sold per 1,000 people:
- UP: ~0.5
- Bangladesh: ~0.1
So UP sells roughly:
- 5× more tractors per capita
- ~10× more cars per capita
Per-capita electricity consumption:
- UP: ~1,100 kWh
- Bangladesh: ~700 kWh
(Only Bihar is lower among major Indian states.)
Mobile data consumption:
- India/UP: ~25 GB per month
- Bangladesh: ~6 GB
Yet Bangladesh is supposedly at:
- ~$2,700 per capita income
vs
- UP at ~$1,500.
Then look at fiscal capacity:
Ignoring central transfers, UP raises roughly:
- ~$70B in total state receipts/taxes
Bangladesh raises:
- only ~$45–50B.
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu — with less than half Bangladesh’s population — raise:
- ~$40–45B in own taxes,
- ~$50–55B including central GST share.
Maharashtra is near:
- ~$95B.
Adjusted for population:
- Maharashtra / TN / Karnataka raise roughly ~$650–750 per capita
- Bangladesh raises roughly ~$250 per capita.
Even Mumbai’s municipal corporation alone generates revenue equal to roughly one-fourth of Bangladesh’s national revenue.
So how exactly does this math reconcile?
Are all these “hard” indicators wrong too:
- electricity consumption,
- vehicle ownership,
- tractor penetration,
- tax collection,
- digital consumption,
- market depth?
Or is nominal per-capita GDP missing large parts of the picture?
