Honestly, this has been my go-to response for years. Whenever someone asks me "how can I get my developers to care about observability and look at production?", I say: ✨"Put them on call!"✨ I have softened in recent years, as I have come to understand that hand-me-down ops tools are legitimately painful and slow for developers to use, and can easily 2x, 3x or more the time of shipping code. And all that time and energy is wasted if they can't actually tell what precisely happened when they shipped their diffs. We need better tools before we can expect developers to truly own their code in production. Three pillars won't cut it. 😕

Added additional dimensions like OS would be nice but it really increases the amount of rows because you now have: total number of packages x total number of operating systems x total number of weeks. It's about $15-20 per month of infra costs to maintain this which is the most I am willing to spend on a side project 😅 I would also have to backfill the data which would be a one time ~$200 query. You can always query the BigQuery public dataset directly for more granular details!
