@_UulHit_8oo but it follows the lunisolar calendar,not lunar calendar. you can't change the fact up to what you like. hope you respect the fact and Chinese culture,hope you can understand that you use English without rename it. the others use Chinese calendar and celebrate can't rename it.

@houancao The lunisolar system was not created by a single country.Many ancient civilizations independently developed similar calendars,including China, Mesopotamia, India, and others.China refined and preserved one version of the lunisolar calendar,but it does not own the system itself

@_UulHit_8oo the fact is CNY calendar follows both the movements of the moon and the sun. Do you have any idea how difficult it was for China to create such a calendar? You know nothing about it., you just use it.

@houancao I never said that it follows a purely lunar calendar.

@_UulHit_8oo you can use Chinese calendar and celebrate the same festival,BUT you can't change the fact that it didn't use lunar calendar and rename it just because your dignity, you have to respect the fact if you want to use others' invented calendar.

@houancao LNY is calculated based on the Moon’s cycles, but to stay aligned with the seasons of the Sun, it uses a lunisolar calendar with leap months. Because this festival date is determined by the Moon, calling it “LNY” is completely reasonable and widely accepted.

@houancao Since you already went through the effort to get past the firewall, maybe instead of coming here to shout at me, you could use that access to learn something actually useful like history. :)))

@_UulHit_8oo and hope you can find your contry history that why you celebrate the Chinese New Year. if you can study Chinese and understand the word in your country' museum, maybe you will understand the fact, LNY maybe just exists 10-20 years. It always CNY or ChunJie

@houancao You’re the one who needs to study history again, not me.“10 to 20 years”? That number is honestly ridiculous.

@houancao I already said from the beginning that this festival is based on a lunisolar calendar, and that is correct. But calling it “Lunar New Year” is still acceptable and widely used. Do you understand that?

@houancao It is unreasonable to come to my page and demand that I call my own traditional holiday by your country’s name.If the situation were reversed, would you not find that just as strange?You ask for respect, yet refuse to show any to others.

@houancao If we did not respect other cultures, we would only say the name of our own country’s New Year because this is also a traditional festival of our nation.

@houancao If you want others to respect you, you should also learn to respect others. The same applies to national cultures.Many countries celebrate a traditional New Year based on the lunisolar calendar, and each has its own name and customs.
