I had the most interesting conversation with a friend today. We were at an art gallery when she hit me with a question I wasn’t ready for. “What is art to you?” I paused. Because nobody had ever asked me that directly. To some people, art is shapes. To others, it’s colour. But when I finally answered her, I said: Art is evidence. Art is emotion. Art is expression. And then I told her how I got there. Walk with me. For me it started with something as simple as a lyric. Nigerian artist Asake once said: “I’m a work of art, Basquiat.” I had to know the lore behind that name. So I looked up Basquiat. And I fell in love with his art immediately. Then one day I received a hoodie. Basquiat’s signature crown printed right across the chest. That hoodie meant everything to me. Because that’s when I understood something important: Art doesn’t just hang on walls. It lives on you. It lives in you. I told my friend all of this while we walked through the gallery. And she listened. Then she asked: “So what are you into now?” That’s when I told her about how I found @thebeaksart Or rather, how The Beaks found me.🦩🧵

spent the last few days creating this cinematic-ish trailer inspired by @thebeaksart by @DKashtalyan. what stood out to me most while working on this piece was not just the art itself, but the feeling behind it. @thebeaksart does not feel like a collection made to chase just attention. It feels intentional, calm, composed, carefully and passionately made before and while creating this video, i spent some time looking through @DKashtalyan socials (facebook, X, threads, instagram, etc) and many of his accomplishments with his art and the more i explored dima’s work, the more obvious it became that this project is backed by years of real artistic experience and identity. before the move from web2 to web3, "the beaks" art has been through many corners of the world as you would see in the video "From walls To fashion To galleries To books And now, To Ethereum...." explains this because from massive murals painted across Romania… to works featured in publications like The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, and MIT Technology Review, to exhibitions and artistic presence stretching through places like Taipei, Warsaw, and Barcelona, The Beaks art is now coming to our beloved Ethereum in form of NFTs The Beaks right now feels less like a trend and more like the continuation of an artist’s journey. a journey i would like to be part of And my favorite quote from Dima “If you collect a piece, you are stepping into 20 years of practice… and everything that comes next.” The Beaks by @DKashtalyan. @DKashtalyan @ssheyii @MartKAD
