Kenya is getting tired of strait Hormuz.
Finance Bill 2026 is inviting oil & mining foreigners.
Right now in Kenya:
• Most non resident companies already pay 30% corporate tax.
But there is one group paying more.
• Foreign contractors in oil, gas & mining
Under the current law (Ninth Schedule):
• They pay 37.5% tax.
Higher than everyone else.
Finance Bill 2026 wants to fix that.
It proposes:
• Reduce 37.5% → 30% for non resident companies in extractive industries.
Meaning:
• Same tax rate as other sectors
Implications:
- Kenya becomes more attractive to investors
