How to Stay Active in Your Own Recruiting Process: A Step-by-Step Guide If you’re serious about playing college football, staying active in your recruiting process is crucial. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you take control of your recruitment and connect with college coaches effectively. Step 1: Download the Versus App Start by downloading the Versus App. This app provides a detailed, free list of every college football program in the country. It’s a great resource to start building your target list of schools. Step 2: Research College Football Programs Once you’ve chosen a school you’re interested in (e.g., Tuskegee University): 1.Google the school’s football program by searching for terms like “Tuskegee football coaches.” 2.Click on the first link, which usually takes you to a page listing the football coaching staff. 3.From this list, gather the names, emails, and Twitter handles (if available) of the key coaching staff members. Step 3: Fill Out 10-15 Questionnaires Daily Almost every college football program offers an online questionnaire for prospective recruits. Make it a goal to complete 10-15 questionnaires per day. This is essential because: •Filling out these forms puts your name directly into the recruiting database. •It shows interest in the program and allows coaches to track your progress and updates over time. Tips for Completing Questionnaires: •Have all your information ready, including your GPA, ACT/SAT scores, height, weight, position, and Hudl link. •Double-check your information for accuracy. •Stay consistent and diligent—this will help you stay on the radar of multiple programs. Step 4: Contact the Coaching Staff When reaching out to coaches, it’s important to prioritize your contacts. The order in which you contact coaches should be: 1.Recruiting Coordinator 2.Your Position Coach (e.g., Offensive Line Coach if you’re an offensive lineman) 3.Defensive or Offensive Coordinator (depending on your position) Email Template: •Subject Line: Include your name and your best attribute (e.g., “John Smith - 6’2” OT with 4.5 GPA”). •Email Body: •Introduction: Briefly introduce yourself with your name, school, and position. •Key Details: •Height •Weight •GPA •Position(s) •Include a link to your Hudl highlight reel (very important). •Personalize: Add a short sentence that makes you stand out—mention something about your work ethic, leadership, or any unique experiences. •Closing: Politely ask them to consider your film and express your interest in their program. Remember, coaches get hundreds of emails daily, so make yours stand out by being concise and professional.

Step 5: Connect on Twitter Twitter is an important platform for college football recruiting. After sending your emails, follow these steps to connect on social media: 1.Search for the football program on Twitter (e.g., search “Tuskegee Football”). 2.Click on the team’s official Twitter profile and go to the “Following” section (not their followers). 3.Scroll through the accounts they follow, which will include their coaching staff. 4.Follow the coaches from the staff, starting with the Recruiting Coordinator, Position Coach, and Coordinator. 5.If Twitter allows you to message them, send the same base message you used in the email (adjusted slightly for a more informal tone, if appropriate). Step 6: Follow-Up Strategy •If Direct Messaging (DM) is blocked: You may need Twitter Premium to message people who don’t follow you back, or you can wait until they follow you back. Once they do, you can message them directly. •After receiving a response: Start building a relationship with the coach. Respond professionally and be prepared for questions about your academics, athletic ability, and character. Step 7: Build a Relationship Once the coach responds, use this opportunity to nurture a relationship. Coaches look for consistency, character, and a willingness to engage over time, so be patient and professional in your communication. Step 8: Ask for Help If a coach asks you anything you’re unsure of, don’t hesitate to reach out for guidance. Whether it’s clarifying a coach’s question or understanding an offer, you should feel free to ask an expert. With experience handling thousands of coaches, we can help ensure you find the right school for you. By following these steps and staying consistent with your efforts—such as completing 10-15 questionnaires daily and reaching out to multiple schools—you’ll put yourself in a strong position to take control of your recruitment and build meaningful connections with college coaches.

Bowe Farmer ( @bowe_farmer11 ) Position: WR/Athlete Height/Weight: 5’10”, 190 lbs GPA: 3.8 40-Yard Dash: 4.4 Highlights: hudl.com/video/3/166351… Bowe Farmer is the ultimate game-changer. A true standout among Nevada’s elite athletes, Bowe isn’t just one of the state’s top prospects—he’s in the conversation as one of the best all-around athletes on the West Coast. His athletic ability is undeniable, but what truly sets him apart is his relentless work ethic, leadership, and versatility on the field. As a wide receiver, Bowe blends explosiveness with technique. His quick release off the line, crisp route-running, and ability to create separation make him a consistent threat in the passing game. Once the ball is in his hands, he’s electric—combining breakaway speed, toughness, and the vision to pick apart defenses. His ability to stretch the field vertically or make plays in traffic adds a dimension that every college offense needs. What makes Bowe special? He’s more than an athlete—he’s a competitor. Whether it’s finding ways to win on the field, leading his teammates, or excelling in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA, Bowe is the type of player who elevates those around him. This is a prospect who hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. Bowe Farmer is a program’s hidden gem, a player who will make an immediate impact with his athleticism and versatility—and leave a lasting legacy with his character and leadership. College coaches, don’t overlook this one. His film proves it: Bowe Farmer is a special kind of athlete who can change a program the moment he steps on campus.
