@__Razoon If the spell has a complex formula, yes. If it doesn’t, like Vague’s sword or Crusch’s technique, they generally won’t detect it. And even if they did, these things are insta-casting applications of mana, there is no leeway here.

This newest chapter makes zero sense whatsoever. How is crusch able to knock out Subaru with beatrice. They’re much stronger than her, to be honest crusch isn’t even top 1000 in the verse and Subaru>amnesia crusch. Him and taiga alone could beat her without beatrice she’s fodder

@charlemagne_fig This is likely due to the shadow garden. So it is unlikely that gluttony is capable of piercing it and experiencing/seeing what happens after Subarus deaths. This is further backed by the shadow garden existing outside the hall of memories and od lugna where purification occurs

@charlemagne_fig It also would be inconsistent as Subaru has shown himself to be resistant to gluttony’s power. With him being able to remember victims of names being devoured and the bigger oddity when Subarus memories was devoured he didn’t become a blank slate only forgetting his isekai time.

Rui never experienced Subaru’s pain, she only had the memories of it. It is a whole plot point that the experience of something and the memories of something are a different thing:

@Itay20052 Look at Louis arneb when she originally ate Subarus memory’s she explained all the pain Subaru felt until his death and she was completely unaffected but when she experienced RBD proper she completely lost her mind. Subarus RBD is different from other abilities

@charlemagne_fig Oh that was due to pucks attack damaging the soul. Puck is his beast of the end form can freeze souls which is why Subaru went insane in arc 3. It’s not due to them experience RBD or any purification it’s just a product of pucks power.

@charlemagne_fig Also this is something also mentioned by tappei but the mad prince has poor stamina due to him using the cursed swords that drain his mana. He his wayyyyy stronger that Petra it’s just that Petra with compression can drain his stamina. So it’s just a bad compatibility match-up

@charlemagne_fig I think you’re underestimating the mad prince. In terms of power ranking I have this 1.reinhard 2.reid 3.satella 4.cecilus 5.mad prince 6.oni god ram 7.regulus Most of the reason why he is so high was that Subaru stated that he is so strong he makes regulus look like a flea

You both seem to be forgetting that Subaru’s body and soul were not fully reconnected yet, meaning that he couldn’t feel any form of pain

@Itay20052 I don’t know what tappei is doing because in the new if route Subaru died hundreds of times while paralysis and nerfed and losing everything and he still adaptdd instantly so why in the main route Subaru is like this?

@__Razoon Well, he is functional, but he is completely broken. Also, he hasn’t got as much control as you think he does, he has days of Calm and Anger, catalogued by Echidna. Days in which he crashes out violently and days in which he is completely apathetic about life.

@charlemagne_fig I was hoping adult Subaru would have a middle ground between shotabarus confidence and adult Subaru valuing his life. A balance would have been preferable but if it’s all gonna be taken back it feels like we are losing some character development here

@charlemagne_fig I know he doesn’t need it but I’m not fond of tappei nerfing Subaru in arcs only giving him temporary buffs that he’ll take back. It just feels like lazy writing so the plot can function and the antagonist can stand a chance. I know it’s necessary for the plot i just dislike it

@charlemagne_fig That’s fair but I think you’re overrating Beatrice and Subarus spells. We see that the mad prince instantly adapts to two of the original spells instantly and subaru still had to die hundreds of times. And this is with all his allies like arakiya he won’t always have them.

@__Razoon I would add the nuance of how the spell or attack was constructed. In my view, “One blow, one hundred men fell” is not a spell but mana reinforcement with wind magic.
