Y’all want to know something crazy, we consider elders in the gay community anyone over 35, once you hit 40, it’s a wrap. Lol Also, Keep in mind we lost a whole generation of elders. Idk, many black gay men over 55- let alone 60. Sit with that!

But those still here are needed because they didn’t die. Healthcare is being cut slowly, NSAID, pepfar, domestic hiv prevention and treatment programs .
Elderly wisdom is necessary to prevent or mitigate the upcoming HIV/AIDS catastrophe.

@TheDaddyBottom That is correct we lost a lot of elders to HIV/AIDS between the 80s ‘& 90s and that responsibility falls to the 70s and 80s born gays (new elders) btwn 40-50+, the true living elders (65+) still guide us when we are blessed to fellowship w/them.

I think this has a lot to do with the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We lost a lot of elders and back then they was getting picked off by the disease..
I also think it’s up to the “New gays” (idk if that’s the right term) to help the younger gens now
