Going from knowing zero about ML to building a ML framework from scratch in 4 months is kinda crazy 👀

I trained a 12M parameter LLM on my own ML framework using a Rust backend and CUDA kernels for flash attention, AdamW, and more. Wrote the full transformer architecture, and BPE tokenizer from scratch. The framework features: - Custom CUDA kernels (Flash Attention, fused LayerNorm, fused GELU) for 3x increased throughput - Automatic WebGPU fallback for non-NVIDIA devices - TypeScript API with Rust compute backend - One npm install to get started, prebuilt binaries for every platform Try out the model for yourself: mni-ml.github.io/demos/transfor… Built with @_reesechong. En tant que étudiant et j'ai peur.
Pas peur de l'IA. Peur de me retrouver diplômé avec des compétences que personne ne cherche plus.
On nous forme sur des savoirs qui sont déjà en train d'être absorbés par des outils comme Claude. Et pendant ce temps, les cours continuent comme si rien ne se passait.
Personne n'en parle de façon sincère d'ailleurs, toujours la langue de bois.
On paie des années d'études pour apprendre quoi exactement ? À exécuter des tâches qu'une IA fait en 3 secondes ?
Je ne dis pas que l'école ne sert à rien. Je dis qu'elle forme pour un monde qui est en train de disparaître.
Et ça m'inquiète.

メタンエンジンで国内最大推力13トンを達成🚀

北海道大樹町にある自社の試験場では、現在週1回のペースでZEROのエンジンCOSMOSの統合燃焼試験を実施しています。
今回の試験シリーズでは、推力13トンを記録し、エンジンの心臓部であるターボポンプも目標回転数に到達。国内で開発されたメタンエンジンとして、最大の推力を達成するという大きなマイルストーンを迎えました。
燃料には、十勝地域の家畜の糞尿から生産された液化バイオメタンを使用しています。エネルギーの地産地消や環境への配慮、そして地域とともに宇宙を目指すISTの「地域連携」を象徴する取り組みです。
本試験に対し、いつも多大なるご理解・ご協力をいただいている大樹町および地域の皆様に、心より感謝いたします。

アルテミス2が月の裏側に行き、太陽を隠した状態で人が撮影したこの写真、何度見てもすごいですね。
ぺガスス座が写っていたので、今、明け方に見ごろを迎えているパンスターズ彗星(C/2025R3)が写っている？と思って撮影時刻から丁寧に探したら、ありました！
他にかすかに海王星も写っていますね。
