HaliMuse hit 10K followers! I’m mindblown and appreciate it so, so much. I’ve made some money from this which is so ridiculous To celebrate I figured I’d buy a follower some Hali 1s. To enter the giveaway, comment on this post what color you want👀 (Opal, Hibiscus, Smoke)

@pratyushbuddiga Agree w/ 1,2 but find 3) a bit idealistic? Maybe 15+ but before then, just focus on exploring their own curiosities + enjoying their childhood. Can definitely start dabbing in work stuff earlier but my hunch is kids won't have interest or mental capacity to get value out of 3)

A nuance here - I actually don’t really believe in “work/life balance” vs aiming for “work/life integration,” but I believe there are a few things we need to adjust for the modern era of work. Men and women used to mostly work alongside their children or extremely close to them. It was easy for the child to participate in the work at a young age and understand it from an even younger age. This creates a reality to the work, and the fruits of hard work are more clearly felt and earned. Now we work in offices usually 30-40 miles away from our children, doing work that’s nearly impossible to explain what we’re actually doing. It’s hard for a child to participate in it. The absence becomes more unexplainable, more unreal. Some solutions imo: 1. Be extremely present when at home and the children are awake. 2. Work extra after they sleep or before they wake up - the sleep sacrifice is worth it. 3. Once they’re old enough, try to truly integrate them into your work. Help them understand it and ideally even participate in it if they can. Like for me, they won’t be able to join a pitch meeting but maybe they can watch a recording after if okay with the founders. Or play with the app I’m evaluating. Or using the tools we’ve invested in, etc. My children are too young for that right now, but I am planning on this being a significant part of their childhood. best argument for “work life balance” I’ve ever heard BUT ALSO there’s something to be said for having your kids seeing you work really hard on something you’re deeply passionate about..which has the opposite effect? it’s not about how hard you work / time you spend with your kids, but how you show up when you do, and why (Hypothesis, pls challenge 🙏)

Thank you capitalism for pitting the two malatang restaurants in my neighborhood against each other and making them continue to match new experience parity from the other (free fruit, free ice cream, increased items selection) on a monthly basis

@zachtratar I think current China is already be a version of this? > Dystopia in regards to the high surveillance / lack of personal privacy > Utopia in superior public safety + cleanliness Despite bad public rep, anyone who's visited will agree cities in China are wonderful to experience

Why can't it be the case with Birria tacos such that you get an appropiately sized cup of consomé and 3 tacos for a normal ~$14 dollars instead of a gallon of consomé and 3 tacos for $20
