Some thoughts on the U.S. Crypto Reserve Bitcoin as the Reserve’s Foundation? Absolutely. If this is meant to be a strategic crypto reserve, Bitcoin alone would have been the logical starting point. Ethereum and Solana at least add smart contract utility and DeFi innovation. XRP.. hm ok.. But ADA? It’s a surprising pick, especially when looking at what’s missing. Grayscale’s “Top 20 Crypto Assets to Watch” might offer a clue as to which assets could be added next. A few standouts: Chainlink (LINK) – The backbone of decentralized oracles Sui (SUI) & Hyperliquid (HYPE) – High-performance chains pushing the limits. Bittensor (TAO) & Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) – AI-powered crypto plays that could align with U.S. tech interests. Helium (HNT) & Celestia (TIA) – Infrastructure-focused projects with strong utility. Optimism (OP) & Arbitrum (ARB) – Ethereum’s leading Layer 2 solutions The initial five seem like a politically curated mix rather than a purely strategic selection. But if the reserve is truly meant to support innovation and long-term adoption, we could see a pivot towards DeFi, AI, and infrastructure plays - all areas where Grayscale’s picks stand out. Will we see a broader mix of assets added? Curious to hear thoughts - what do you think should be added next?
