I am so pleased this great young scholar has won a Northern Bridge PhD full Durham studentship for thinking about woods /timber in relation to Greek drama. Theatre-god Dionysus was associated with lush foliage, had the title Dendritis (Tree-One) and his satyrs liked hugging trees
