@eviltrout You were lucky to receive a phone call that soon with your results because my test results came months later and in a letter! But the good news is I don't have the gene! Now I too can rest easy about my future and maybe even more important –– I can feel better about my children!

In 2019 I did something that was really scary for me: I got a genetic test for Li Fraumeni syndrome. (Thread)

@eviltrout It's hard to explain why anyone would opt out of an important genetic testing like that so I might be one of a small group of people who knows exactly how you felt then! But since having kids, and losing my mom, I decided to finally get testing in my 30s ..

@eviltrout My jaw is dropping over here because a few years ago ... I went through the same thing. Li Fraumeni syndrome runs in my family as well! I was asked to take the gene test when I was a teenager too and just like you I said no ..

@cagraber Another great web + mobile app is InstaPaper because it downloads the articles you want to read so that you can read them on the go even without an internet connection ;)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I wish there were a way to click a button so I could read articles without all the links obvious through underlining or different color or bold letters. All that makes it far more difficult for me to read the article. Any such thing exist??
