professionally dx DID. Anti endogenic systems, anti tulpas, anti fictives. You do not have 200 alien dragon alters that are 100 million years old.

@HollowPuff TW religion Our mother used it as a means of control "You're going to hell" etc. It can be such a negative tool. Sending you safe 💗

Tw: religious phrase Religion played such an insidious role in my whole life. One of the first ways I was taught to deal with stress of any kind was to "give it to God". I'm just realizing now how much that made me dissociate.

My amnesia has gotten so much worse lately 😭😭😭 What are ways you cope and manage with dissociative amnesia throughout the day? #dissociatwt

@LeaMerone @LadyDoctorSays @rkh_md Except unless the big companies responsible for most emissions do anything eating veggies instead of cows makes a negligible difference.

I call patients in the evening after outpatient surgery. I accidentally transposed a number when I sent this message. It is purposely vague to avoid a HIPAA violation. 1) We need to teach HIPAA in high school so people understand 2) We really need to be nicer to one another!

I think "Multiple Personality Disorder" (AKA "DID") is a recurring fad diagnosis generated by the media/zealous therapists/& suggestible patients. Better seen as metaphor of distress & iintrapsychic confict than mental disorder. Focussing on personalities makes it worse.

So I really want to make a group chat for people with DID/OSDD-1 that can be a more private support space than dissociatwt. A lot of times we just want want talk with other adults going through similar things and get their input or advice. Anyone interested?

@dissociatruth @HollowPuff His trauma. Also send him feelings of safe love, if you can, while also practicing self care for yourself. And then work on trying to compromise. He has pain he needs to express, that's really valid, but it just has to be expressed in a safer way.

@dissociatruth @HollowPuff It's been a crazy, stressful year, so it's not surprising your system is reacting differently and more severely to things that you may have been able to cope with better before. I think it might help to mentally send him messages that you hear him and believe his pain and

@dissociatruth @HollowPuff Or just lots of pressure lately. Feeling bad is a hard core belief to change, so instead I'd focus on trying to stop the harmful behaviors while you all work on changing the belief.

@dissociatruth @HollowPuff Do you have things you can point to to show him you aren't a bad person? Would be be willing to compromise? (You can't SH but you can do x, y or z) My therapy is parts-focused, so I would say something in your life has triggered these thoughts in you/him, maybe a trauma memory c/

@dissociatruth DID is a defense mechanism meant to protect. How does he think he's protecting you/himself with these actions?

@dissociatruth Try asking him, if you can, "what need are you trying to meet by doing this?" With my parts, they usually need to feel heard, so we come up with alternative, safe ways to make them feel seen and validated. *Why* is he punishing you? *Why* does he have those negative beliefs?

@multiplicityand @AppleTV Here's the link youtu.be/2c8xpiCKtHQ "It's not like we woke up and decided oh I have to do something unpleasant, this is my job, I don't want to own that so I'll push it away" That's so stigmatizing. That's.. not how my DID works, at least.

@multiplicityand @AppleTV On one hand, yes, but on the other hand I was really hurt by how she views people who have DID/how she sees DID. She does not claim DID and instead prefers MPD.

@multiplicityand @AppleTV I've been trying to find it on youtube again but there's a specific clip where she says something like she doesn't just decide "oh, I don't want to do chores today and dissociate" and I feel like saying that is DID is harmful.

@dissociatruth Losing time, having the weird sense of not being yourself, watching "the me that isn't me" from the back of my head, terrible memory, notes and reminders everywhere, internal hallucinations, having friends you don't remember, wildly changing personal tastes, intense flashbacks
