By defining belonging solely through abstract political values, laws, and "adopted principles" rather than shared ancestry, language, traditions, and ethnic continuity, it opens the door to unlimited demographic transformation. In practice, it functions as a mechanism to dissolve the native population's dominance, replacing thick cultural bonds with thin procedural commitments that fail to sustain social trust or cohesion under high immigration. When combined with mass inflows from dissimilar cultures as seen across the West and in Sri Lanka's failed early experiments we see it prioritizes universalist inclusion over preservation, leading to parallel societies, identity politics, and the gradual stripping away of the founding people's customs, holidays, religious character, and demographic majority. Natives who want to maintain their specific heritage are labelled backward or racist for resisting this engineered dilution into a rootless, globalist consumer society with no fixed identity. True civic nationalism, as implemented, is not neutral. It is designed to kill off particularist cultural and ethnic identities in favor of interchangeable populations, making countries like Australia vulnerable to the very ethnic fractures that drove families like Rukshan's parents to migrate in the first place. Yes, please don't include me in your obsessive conspiratorial anti-Jewish, anti-immigrant ethnonationalist "noticed" hate fest. On COVID, we weren't putting Australians into categories to judge their worth or treating people differently. That's the Australia I believe in and fight for. Everyone regardless of their background went through that together, and I'll never abandon those people because times are tough. We are equal and fight for our country regardless of someone's immigrant history or skin colour together. You can justify to yourself however you want how noble your cause is. I wish you luck. ✌️
