Hi the pit is not a section that supports reasonable accommodations, that’s what ADAs are for xx wheelchairs in the pit are a HAZARD. You wouldn’t be able to see anything down there anyway so I’m not really sure what you’re crying on the internet for

@randeepickles @_andersonspring @ZebraBimbo @CripplePunkNet have more of a chance of getting to safety if they were in ADA seating (where venue security and staff would expect them to be) as opposed to being in the pit. Just my two cents though.

@randeepickles @ZebraBimbo @CripplePunkNet wheelchairs in the pit at rock concerts and even festivals is so common though, they’re often some of the most inclusive gigs you can go to so why are we acting like it’s not 🙈

@ZebraBimbo @CripplePunkNet However, at a concert- rock especially- there is a profound lack of spatial awareness and also people literally flying through the air. I would say it’s also hazardous for the person in the chair without clear visibility.

@_andersonspring @randeepickles the venue are clearly stating that they aren't willing to make accommodations in the pit, which is disappointing but they're very much legally allowed to do so. the venue prob knows more than any of us whether accoms in the pit are reasonable for that venue.

@kymsinterlude @joelj198 @bugsforbrains they’re still separated from the pit though, which isn’t the same experience as actually being in the GA pit. there are still ways to accommodate wheelchair users in most venues if you ask. that’s all they’re doing, just asking if it’s possible.

barricade is not a disability accommodation btw pls get out of your own head. i grew up with a disabled mother and i fight heavily for disabled persons when it comes to their rights. this however i can’t get behind, you want special treatment and privileges, just say it

I am also disabled and have explained why I need accommodations every time i’ve requested them. it’s very odd to do the 2020 self righteous thing.
