This is why Kuminga is so important to the hawks. He’s the big strong athletic forward they need against other team stars. Kuminga is strong af and athletic and very competitive. He can’t just be ran over. He just has to keep his head in the game and he’s good

This is such an elite possession from Kuminga. Was patient moved the ball quickly and without it. Relocated didn’t force anything, recognized the switch and smaller defender on him. Barbacue chicken!! This is Gallinari esq stuff we got on that playoff run!!!!! 🔥💯💯

Jonathan Kuminga last night vs. the Mavericks: 18 minutes 16 points 5 rebounds 3 assists 1 steal +10 In 6 games with the Hawks, Kuminga is averaging 15 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1 steal in just 22 minutes per game on 56/58/71 splits with a ts% of 66.8.... Just to give u an idea, Kuminga career high rebounds per game as a Warrior coming into this season was 5.9. he is currently averaging 7.5 in 22 minutes per game in Atlanta. Per 36, Kuminga is averaging 23.5 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists per game in Atlanta. All 3 categories would be career highs. Against Dallas, Kuminga had zero points in transition. All of his buckets, outside of the 75 footer, came in the halfcourt. It came off ball movement, postwork, and catch and shoot 3s. Kuminga has a +12 net rating with his new team with a 100 defensive rating. Kuminga is flanked by Daniels, NAW and Gabe Vincent most of the time and those 3 guards are some of the best POA defenders in the league. Its part of the reason why Kuminga is playing the best defense of his life. When u have big guards that can defend the point of attack it changes things. Those 3 guards have elevated Kuminga defensively. He isnt getting lost off ball or have to cover for former teammates who couldnt guard on the perimeter.
