No major surprise here, Brown is in his fourth year at Columbia and had not featured for the Lions since November 23 due to injury. Never forget when he dropped 18 points to help upset Villanova on the road back in 2024-25.

The All-Ivy men’s team — featuring Avery Brown (@CULionsMBB), Chandler Piggé (@HarvardMBB ), Jackson Hicke (@PrincetonMBB) and Nick Townsend (@YaleMBasketball) — secured victories in both of its opening contests. On the women’s side, Cecelia Collins (@CULionsWBB) helped lead USA to a dominant 21–10 win over South Africa. 🌿🏀

Avery Brown was downhill all game🏀 @_averybrown3 Brown who just completed his junior campaign for @culionsmbb is a big guard, especially for Ivy League standards. And can get to where he wants off of the dribble. He can get a piece of paint with ease most possessions. In the painted area he has a two foot floater. Brown can get all the way to the cup and finish with either hand. He also hit a catch and shoot trey for good measure and to keep the defense honest. #Columbia #IvyLeague #Nike

Hassan Koureissi (‘26) showed out 🔥⛹🏽 @HassanKoureissi Koureissi who’s a junior for @step_basketball had it going in our recent viewing of him. The 6’5 multidimensional guard had his jumper clicking.Especially in the catch and shoot variety. He drained multiple that way. His shooting opened up the floor for the rest of his game  Koureissi is a 2-way player and made big plays defensively.Timely blocks and deflections were right up his alley. He also moves the rock with some smarts and finds his open teammate with ease. All in all, he showed how versatile a basketball player he truly is. #Stepinac #NYC #CHSAA #Champions #NYCBasketball
