Aznou’s half hour v Sunderland was ballon d’or worthy as time has gone on! He came on, showed enthusiasm & dived to a pen. Hit two crosses that didn’t complete & played LW. It was good to see but some of the hyperbole since is unreal! And still no one wanted him on loan!

That was one shit season that. Pickford had his worst season in years. Not one defender played well. Ndiaye hasn't done a tap since before Xmas. Nobody stepped up to replace Grealish. Centre forwards are cack. Garner and KDH being half decent was as good as it got. Dreadful

If you look at this at the upper end there's another problem.
Imagine someone earning £65k with £10k of overtime. Take home pay under this rule will be £58k.
They are given a £2k payrise (which takes them above the upper limit). Now they no longer qualify, their take-home pay drops to £55k.
£2k payrise triggers a £5k tax rise. That's a new 250% tax rate in the system!

I've only been thinking about this for about 10 minutes, but take someone earning, say, £50k in a 40 hour week doing an hour's overtime (extra £1,250 a year). Their hourly rate is currently £24/hr. They could agree to change their contract so that: - The first 40 hours a week would be paid at £12.71 (minimum wage) - The next additional hour a week would be paid at £477.18/hr - Above that, each hour would be paid at £24/hr. This saves them about £5,000 in income tax a year. No change to working pattern or salary.

@samuelluckhurst Of the changes, the one preventing this being more competitive is taking too many into the Champions League rather than no longer dumping the failed teams into the Europa league. The past 2 yrs English teams have won. For 20 odd years before that there were about 3 English wins
