It has been 18 weeks since the world lost Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, but more importantly, since their son Jake and their daughter Romy lost them. Jake Reiner has written an essay describing what the last few months have been like, the depth of pain that he feels, and the impact his parents had on his life. I hope you will honor them by reading it, I have linked it in the post below. If you grew up in LA politics, as I did, you would eventually encounter Rob and Michele. I had the great fortune of being the recipient of their kindness many times, and Rob was particularly generous to me when I transitioned into the media world. There was an earnestness to their kindness and generosity that I find difficult to describe in a social media post — perhaps the inability to describe it in such a way speaks to how profound their kindness and generosity were.
