I just saw someone mention that the way 2B speaks can sometimes be more girlish than an adult woman and I agree. 2B really is a cute girl, isn't she? She can try to talk like a soldier or a tough guy all she wants, but we all know that deep inside she's just a girl. A very, very sweet girl. And even though she has an adult frame, it's still the frame of a young woman, so I can still see her as a shoujo. I also think that way of speaking is the real her. It's interesting, considering 9S also didn't show his real way of speaking when he talked to her during the game/anime events. People usually show their real selves to close people or when they're being affectionate, right? In the anime ending when she said, "Good morning, Nines" in that sweet voice, that's her real self being affectionate toward 9S, the side of her she'd been suppressing for years. I think her real self talks like how Lab No.2 talks to Zinnia (she somehow sounds so girl-like and sweet) and when she acts cold, that's just her trying to suppress her emotions (besides that’s being part of her aloof personality). Meanwhile, 9S's real self talks like Lab No.9 — still polite and carefree, but without using formal terms like "masu" or "desu." And I think some people actually think 9S speaking formally is part of his personality because I've noticed doujinshis of after-story events where 9S still uses "desu" or "masu" in his sentences when talking to 2B. I don't think they'd still talk like that to each other after the game/anime events. Do people even realize how 9S just dropped the formality in every execution? He didn’t see the need to act or suppress his emotions anymore, so he just talked like himself, the real him, and didn't use "desu" or "masu" in his sentences. And 2B also dropped her act and used a tone like a normal girl instead of sounding like a soldier or tough guy. They both didn't see the need to act or suppress their emotions anymore during the executions because each one was basically a final moment for them (for 2B, and for every version of 9S). So when they don't have any restraints anymore, why would they still act the same way? Seriously, I really hope people focus on how they speak in every execution. They literally talk like Lab No.9 and No.2. I feel like some people don't really notice these details (´；ω；`)
