I love idea #1 personally. I don't think there should be any distinguishment between or reward for how much or how little you miss the playoffs.
Acting like the only way you can become a good/better team by drafting #1 is so tired.

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

It is pretty ironic that it took the Cavs swapping their 6'8" "versatile defender" wing into 3 guards to feel comfortable running a switch-heavy defense and it's seeming to actually be effective

@__ceokelvin valid, the handle/passing limitations have stood out for a guy his size. But the shooting is real. I think he's kinda the anti Levert/Hunter where the on-ball limitations are a blessing in disguise. He isnt trying to create when that should be done by better/more efficient guys

A dimension I'm excited about with Keon... the Cavs love to supply help. But the other team always knows it'll be Ev and his guy will be open. Excited for the activity Keon brings as a guy who can genuinely muck things up, while being able to recover quickly/closeout well

The Bulls trotting out a lineup of 4 guards and none of them capable of running an offense is just so impressive. Hats off to this organization for bringing back real basketball

They did it differently & are now in similar spots... the self-destruction of MEM & DAL has been wild to see. How you go from likable, young, successful teams... all the way back to square 1 solely off self-inflicted wounds is beyond me. And the same people are still in charge
