CPUs suck. We're building a new general-purpose chip that scales to thousands of cores while being more energy-efficient.
We're hiring hardware design engineers, consider joining us tendrils.co/jobs

@artkisart @nullfellows uncertain, that's too far away to be thinking about

no more useless internships.
if you’re young and already building things, you’re sitting on the biggest advantage you’ll ever have: time.
what you do with it now will compound for decades.
at @nullfellows we believe that bringing together the most ambitious young talent and placing them into high-velocity European startups will give them the most unfair advantage.
the compounding effect of doing this at 17 or 21 is massive. you learn faster, meet the right people, engineer your luck and understand how the world actually works way earlier than your peers.
if you want your next job to actually change your trajectory - apply from the comments.
early applications close Dec 15. don’t waste your time doing something forgettable.

Life is weird. One year ago I had this naive thought that the only thing stopping me from going all in on some crazy dreams I had was the fact that I needed to pay for rent and food to survive. I thought that by not having to worry about those things, I could finally drop everything else and go all in on my true interests.
Now I live in the world’s only hacker hotel, for free.
I solved a problem I had, but afterwards I realized it wasn’t a real problem. If you’re working on something interesting, it’s actually really easy to get an angel ticket of 50k. With 50k you can easily survive for a couple of years. I just didn’t have the agency tbh.
But by creating @shipfr8 and receiving over 1500 applications from all around the world in the first year, we ended up realizing something much bigger:
There are people out there who are frustrated
– by the slowness and bureaucracy in academia, and the obsession with citations that leads to less explorative science
– by investors and accelerators focusing on fast wins and quick money grabs
– by founders in SF who are more like social media influencers chasing aura and high signal rather than true nerds like Richard Hendricks and Gilfoyle
– by being surrounded by peers who lack the ambition and agency to work on the impossible
So we found our niche: young technical mavericks going all in on crazy ideas.
We aim to be the best place in the world for these people.
This year we’ve had people at FR8 working on new chip architectures, BCIs, room-temperature superconductor research, LLM input compression, expressive robots, and much more.
If this resonates, applications for the next cohort are open for two more days.

@tbpn featured LeLamp!
also $50 is the pre-order deposit, full price will be ~$399. Stripe defaults to hide the description, especially on mobile. I have edited our order title so there is no confusion for anyone ordering LeLamp.
