Left the house with my AirPods but forgot the case. How weird is it to ask a coworker to use their case to charge?

The irony of the SaaSpocalypse is that we are all relying on seat-based pricing to get cheap access to frontier models. SaaS died as it lived—one seat at a time.

Anthropic has managed unprecedented velocity for product delivery. And in doing so, they have proved that billing management remains an unsolved problem.

As engineers, we need to come to terms with the fact that AI is no longer here to assist us. Our job now is to assist the AI. It is our execution capacity.

Claude code allows me to build so many to do apps in parallel. I shiver with……………….. anticipation.

@paulg The aggregate of being trained on everyone is that it doesn’t really sound like anyone.

I don't mean this entirely as a joke. If there is a population of people who write like ChatGPT, I would have avoided them pretty strenuously.

Presumably ChatGPT is trained on corpora of things written by humans, and yet it doesn't sound like any human I know. Is there a population somewhere of people who write in chirpy bulleted lists that I've somehow managed to avoid?

actually given the lag in robotics, AI crushing birthrates is evidence that AI is *not* currently acting in self-interest, because there's a good chance it collapses the human capital pool it relies on to build in the physical world before it achieves self-sufficient takeoff
Ross Douthat@DouthatNYT

Yes, and the collapse in birthrates also began before ChatGPT. But the A.I. future reaches back into the past, preparing its own way ... x.com/binarybits/sta…
