Our hope for the new year is for LGBTQI+ people to feel safe seeking health care. Everyone should have access to high quality, dignified care.

Yet again we're asking: how many children killed is too many? Israeli forces bombed two schools yesterday, one in Khan Younis and one in Beit Hanoun, killing several children. We refuse to accept this violence that Palestinian children face as normal.

Day after day, week after week for over 14 months now, Gaza has been nothing short of hell on Earth. UNICEF continues to call on all parties to the conflict, and on those with influence over them, to take decisive action to end the suffering of children. Ceasefire NOW.

Attack in Al-Mawasi: This morning, some of our colleagues were surrounded by bombing and heavy shooting for hours. We’re deeply concerned for the safety of our colleagues and patients across the Gaza Strip. We need an immediate and sustained #CeasefireNow.

Khan Younis is supposedly the "safest" area in the Gaza Strip, yet Israeli occupation forces have just bombed a school where hundreds of families were taking shelter, resulting in many being burned alive.

Nowhere is safe in Gaza and no one is spared. "There is an 11-month-old in critical condition with a traumatic brain injury as well as a 7-year-old boy on a ventilator with penetrating abdominal wounds who may not survive the night." In the evening of December 8, following a bombing in southern Gaza, our medical team at the field hospital in Deir al-Balah received an influx of mass casualties, including four children.

WEST BANK UPDATE: According to information gathered by MSF teams on December 3 in Tubas, West Bank, Israeli forces raided and opened fire inside the Turkish Hospital, with which MSF collaborates, detaining staff, intimidating patients, and causing damage to the emergency room. During this hour-long raid, five medical staff were detained and one person was wounded. Medical staff on site were threatened at gunpoint and subjected to aggressive questioning. Patients were told to stay still or they would be shot and killed. “This violent incursion is unacceptable and shocking”, says Karine Robert, MSF deputy head of mission for Palestine. This is one of many attacks on health care in the West Bank in recent months. MSF calls for the protection and respect of medical facilities, staff, and patients.
