SEVENTEEN's Hoshi Makes a Heartwarming Donation, Five Classrooms Completed at a Public School in Zambia The children now have a new place to learn, thanks to SEVENTEEN's Hoshi. On June 15, the Community Chest of Korea (Love Fruit) announced, "The classroom construction project at a public school in Zambia, funded by Hoshi's donation, has been completed, providing a new learning environment for approximately 250 local children." The project was made possible through a donation of 100 million KRW (approximately $73,000 USD) that Hoshi contributed through Gyeonggi Northern Community Chest last year. The beneficiary school is a public school attended by around 250 students, from kindergarten through 7th grade. Previously, the school had only two classrooms, forcing multiple grades to study together in the same space due to the poor educational conditions. Through this support, a total of five new classrooms across two buildings, along with restroom facilities, were constructed. Renovation work was also carried out on the existing school facilities. Because of the classroom shortage, students from different grade levels had been sharing the same learning space. With the completion of the new classrooms, children can now study in a more spacious and comfortable environment. In addition, support was provided to a child protection facility in Kitwe, a city in northern Zambia. The assistance included repairs to aging facilities and electrical work, helping improve the children's living conditions. Hoshi shared: "I wanted to help create a better environment where children can learn and grow. Thinking about the kids who will pursue their dreams in these new classrooms makes me very happy. I hope to continue paying attention to places where help is needed in the future." Since joining the Honor Society, a donor group under Community Chest of Korea, in 2021, Hoshi has consistently engaged in charitable giving. In 2024, he donated 100 million KRW to support the construction of a national orphan school in Laos. Last May, he also donated to the Korean Army's "Patriotic Devotion and Comradeship Fund." In addition, he has continued various philanthropic activities both in Korea and abroad, including donations to his alma mater and hometown students, book donations to the Lee Seok-young New Media Library, and coal briquette donations for underprivileged communities. Meanwhile, to celebrate his birthday, Hoshi will release his new song "SNAPBACK" today at 6 PM KST on major music platforms. The song cleverly expresses an irresistible attraction, and Hoshi participated in both the songwriting and composition, showcasing his musical talents. m.entertain.naver.com/home/article/1…
