Once the flight crew tells you to leave a plane, you have to comply. There are no exceptions. In this case, the passenger had bought a neck pillow at the airport and strapped it to the seat, which is not allowed. He was told several times to remove it and refused. His argument was that buying it at the airport made it acceptable. The pillow was not the real problem. The issue was that he attached it to the seat.
