Does esports need a new game to save it? The last real boom came from LoL, DOTA2, CS:GO and SC2 starting in the late 2000s, then PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant and a few others gave the industry another push to sustain upwards momentum. But right now it feels like we’re stuck. The same titles are still here, but they’re not driving new growth. Viewership has slowed, storylines are stale, and publishers, TOs, brands and other stakeholders are struggling to make the economics work. For over a decade, the industry has relied on new games to reset the cycle, to bring fresh players, new narratives and new energy. But that’s also the problem because it means the health of esports is tied to whether the next “big one” arrives. And what if it doesn’t? Maybe the question isn’t “what’s the next game,” but “how do we build an ecosystem that doesn’t collapse when there isn’t one?” Thoughts?

What I'll never understand is why TOs who do partnership deals with smaller platforms don't positively incentivise streamers and content creators to use that stream instead of twitch. Tell me I can run my own gambling ad or that on Kick I can do some things I can't on twitch and maybe I chose that directly. After all it's gonna have fewer people watching and so the stream is gonna run much smoother and not lag.

16 days and 4,000 kilometers later we crossed China. We ate like people in China, smoked like people in China, and spoke like absolute idiots never before seen in China. This trip was harder than last years. Getting sick, navigating the magical 207, and failing to say the word hotel every night all the while referring to myself as “p*ssy burger” took its toll I’m lucky to be able to do this cat line with Michael. It’s not easy to find someone you can spend everyday and every night without some tensions brewing- but I could hangout with that dude everyday until I die and never get sick of him. A big thank you to my crew who are the only reason anyone was able to follow our journey and turn the hours of chaos into an actual series. Editors, translators, producers, fixers, assistants, designers, a dude named Li, and many more people are the reason tip2tip exists. A special thanks to Cam, Dan, Alicia, Dave, Lucky, and Zhang Wei who followed us in an RV for 16 days <3 Finally, shoutout everyone in China the people there were unforgettably nice to two white colored foreigners riding motorcycles across China 🇨🇳😄✊

UPDATE on the Americas major qualification: Nothing has gone Liquids way so far in terms of other results needed for them to secure the qualification. Now the situation is that Liquid will likely not qualify for the major for below reasons: - BESTIA will make it if they reach the final in Riga - Passion UA have a chance if they reach the final in Riga and defeat BESTIA (It looks like both teams will end above Liquid then). - Gaimin Gladiators will make it 100% with a top 3 in Circuit X. - Gaimin Gladiators can end above Liquid with just a win in the next match vs ODDIK and then a defeat in the next match to a high ranked team (will be close with Liquid in this scenario). May not be enough for major though, if Passion UA defeat BESTIA in Riga Final. The above is assuming BESTIA is sitting safely on below plane from Copenhagen to Riga and will be ready for the first match at 11.30 tomorrow vs BIG Academy..
