Dowry sirf maangi nahin jaati, it's so imposed largely in Indian culture.
It begins with Baaratiyon ka swagat & all expenses for the wedding rituals & reception thereafter by the Girl's side alone.
What comes later is additional burden.
I think it's fair to be 50-50 in spends.

This is the classic cycle of gaslighting - provoke, accuse, destabilise, then paint the victim’s reaction as the real issue.
And somehow, the woman is expected to carry the trauma quietly and gracefully while breaking inside. All while his cruelty gets reframed as concern or whatever else. This is exactly what happened with Twisha Sharma. My heart breaks for her.
