Radio Silence has revealed in a new chat with @THR that there were two cuts of SCREAM 5 being played with during post-production: their cut and the studio's cut. Their cut won. "There was a cut where the first half was totally different. It was a very shortened version of the first half, and that was the studio cut at the end of the day."

@RustyHerzog @BDisgusting @THR Not having the OG’s personally would feel like a disservice to what scream is. Scream (with the exception of whatever 7 was) has always been a commentary on the state of horror films at that time. Requels were so relevant to the core of Scream 5. It made the most sense.

@BDisgusting @THR 5 should've never had the legacy characters. No OGs and definitely no references to Billy or past characters. Stay in Woodsboro, same characters and dynamics. Tara/Mindy as killers and even the Stab motive would work.

@theandrewkase I keep seeing people try to justify this third act throwing around the word parasocial as the main premise as some “meta commentary” when it was indeed not a one sided or parasocial relationship, Sidney had an established relationship and friendship with Jessica.

We got a much stronger third act in 7 than we did in VI. The parasocial obsession with celebrities is very contemporary and it’s become a huge problem. Also, Kevin is poking fun at all of us in the end. It’s out of love. ❤️ #Scream7 #Scream

There’s something magical about the scale of Scream (1996) that hasn’t been captured again (Scream 2 and 3 were probably the closest). The grand, sweeping establishing shots and environment. Each scene is art. 7 had some glimpses of it, but would love even more in 8.

@ScoobyScream When Rebecca got stabbed once in the gut and basically died on spot while the same thing happens to Sidney the next day but she can’t bleed out cause the villain’s doing their monologue rn

Crazy how one stab to the shoulder takes Gale out for the rest of Scream 4, but other characters get stabbed multiple times in other films a walk it off 😂. Plot armor’s really gotten crazy.
