في سنة 2009 برشلونة طلب يقدم طلب لريال مدريد لتأجيل مباراة الكلاسيكو بسبب ان مباراة كانت قبل مواجهة تشيلسي بيومين ريال مدريد رفض الطلب وقال ان مباراة الكلاسيكو ستلعب بيومها المحدد ثم ماذا ؟ فكان العقاب قاسي من برشلونة، اذلال تاريخي
